Ari Amun, a singer-songwriter based between Atlanta, Georgia, and New York City, has carved a distinct identity in the music scene with her uplifting melodies and soulful voice, blending pop and R&B influences. Originally from Powder Springs, Georgia, Ari pursued her passion for music by studying Contemporary Vocals at NYU.
Having embarked on her musical journey with covers shared online, Ari Amun made her official entrance with the 2020 debut single “Drowning,” a poignant reflection on her teenage struggles with mental health. The following year, she continued to garner attention and acclaim with her sophomore single, “Attitude.” Now, Ari returns with her latest single, “Human Nature,” collaborating with the rising artist Madhi from southern California.
Expressing her pride in the songs written and produced during high school, Ari looks forward to releasing music that aligns more closely with her evolving artistry. “Human Nature” serves as an excellent introduction to this new chapter in her musical journey, showcasing the growth she has achieved as a vocalist.
In “Human Nature,” Ari Amun creates an alternative R&B pop sound characterized by laid-back beats, vibrant instrumentation, soaring vocal leads, and poignant lyricism. Collaborating with Madhi, who provides a delicate keyboard backing and produces the track, Ari weaves her sensational vocal performance above a punchy rhythm and minimal arrangement, establishing a sleek groove.
Accompanying the single is a visually captivating music video directed by Kameron Jones. The video offers a colorful visual narrative, featuring Ari singing in various scenes, from a retro-style living room and natural surroundings to appearing on a TV and in a mirror. This cinematic experience complements the exquisite qualities of the new song.
Ari shares insights into “Human Nature,” stating, “The song is about seeing someone who is perceived as perfect without rose-colored glasses. We always have that one person in our life who seems perfect with no sign of flaws. For me, it was a particular person who I felt could do no wrong. I quickly realized how dehumanizing it was to put them on such a high pedestal, assuming characteristics about their life I had never seen in full.”
She adds, “However, it’s also about becoming so consumed with superficial things that we can’t see the true beauty of the world right in front of us. We are all connected through nature and each other, which is, in my opinion, the most beautiful form we can take. It’s important to not lose the root of what we were born with and embrace our own human nature.” Ari Amun’s “Human Nature” stands as a testament to her evolving artistry, delivering a compelling blend of R&B and pop that resonates with authenticity and depth.
