HANNIE, the dynamic songwriting duo comprising multi-instrumentalists Hannah Koppenburg and Annie Wagstaff, unveils their latest single, “Target”, featuring the vocals of emerging Canadian singer Ralph. Building on the success of their debut single, ‘Cosmic Bound,’ ‘Target’ once again demonstrates HANNIE’s knack for crafting massive hooks and infusing them with a disco-inspired pop groove.
The track effortlessly transcends genre boundaries, incorporating stabbing synths and a face-melting guitar solo by Annie. Much like contemporary acts Disclosure and Clean Bandit, HANNIE takes charge of writing and co-producing their tracks, collaborating with different vocalists to bring a unique flavor to each song.
“Target” holds a special place for the duo, as it was one of the first songs they wrote together. Working with Ralph, who was visiting from Toronto, added an extra layer of excitement to the creative process. The song effortlessly came together, reflecting the swift and dynamic collaboration style shared by the trio.

Forming HANNIE in 2017, Hannah and Annie initially crossed paths at ACM University in Guildford, where they were the only females in a sea of aspiring guitarists and keyboard players. Hannah, hailing from South Germany, handles the keys, while Surrey-born Annie takes charge of the guitar. Their musical connection quickly flourished, leading to collaborations with various bands before culminating in the formation of HANNIE in 2018.
In just a year, HANNIE has transitioned from sharing online videos filmed in their living room to amassing over 160,000 followers eagerly anticipating their next musical move. “Target” solidifies HANNIE’s reputation for delivering infectious and genre-blending tracks, showcasing their musical evolution and promising a bright future for this talented duo.
