London’s techno virtuoso, Daniel Avery, unveils a mesmerizing sonic journey with his latest creation, “Hazel and Gold”. Opting for a minimalistic approach, Avery crafts an atmospheric, trance-inducing techno masterpiece that captivates the listener from start to finish. The track is not only a testament to Avery’s production prowess but also a glimpse into the upcoming eponymous album, set for a global release on June 24th via Phantasy.
Teasing fans with this exquisite offering ahead of his seated and socially distanced “Together In Static” live shows at London’s Hackney Church on May 29th, Avery collaborates once again with visual artist Tom Andrew, enhancing the auditory experience with compelling visuals.
In a candid reflection on the upcoming album, Avery shares, “Much like the previous record Love + Light from last year, Together in Static felt like it arose from nowhere in the most positive way, full of joy and hope for the future. It was a beautiful crystal cocoon in which I could fully immerse myself”.
Avery goes beyond the technical aspects of music production, emphasizing the abstract and soulful elements that shape his creative process. He shares insights into the inspiration behind “Hazel and Gold”, describing it as “an electronic love letter to a special person in my life.” This emotional depth resonates in the track, adding a human touch to the electronic soundscape.
“Together in Static” follows Avery’s surprise third studio album, “Love + Light”, released amid the challenges of the coronavirus crisis last June. While his previous work was praised as “a heartfelt eulogy for the hedonism we’re missing”, the anticipation for “Together in Static” is met with a sense of hope and expectation. With Avery’s unique ability to infuse machines with a human heart, this upcoming album promises to be another sonic journey that transcends boundaries and resonates with a diverse audience.
